The Lone Star alum was born and raised in Olympia, Washington.

The Hallmark Channel leading lady graduated from New York University's Tisch School of the Arts in 2009. She also studied at the Atlantic Acting School.

The So Undercover actress has kept her love life somewhat private, but in summer 2022 she was linked to fellow Hallmark Channel actor Brett Dalton. Eagle-eyed fans noticed in July of that year that the pair were together at Universal Studios. The twosome later posted cozy photos with each other in August 2022 and again in early September 2022 via Instagram. The River alum later tagged Dalton in a snap from her birthday dinner on September 25.

Mumford began her career in 2008 playing Megan Emory on four episodes of Crash. In 2015, she made her debut as Kate Kavanagh in Fifty Shades of Grey. She also played the character in the 2017 and 2018 sequels. The actress later joined the Chicago Fire family, portraying Hope Jacquinot for eight episodes between 2017 to 2019.

The Night Is Young star is an avid hiker and outdoors person. In August 2021, she documented a joint hike with her mom, revealing that with 17 miles left before nightfall she was happier than ever. “With each step my gratitude spills out: for the unspeakable beauty of the wild, for my tough + tender body that always carries me through it, and for these moments together,” she wrote via Instagram. “Just the sound of our breath, our feet on the ground, one steady step in front of the other, our hearts holding so much as the world spins and spins.”
