TECHNIQUEDrum Sequencing With PushLet’s compose a beat using Push. Begin in a new project: set the global tempo to 122bpm and global swing to 20% using the top-right two encoders, then hit Browse and navigate to the Drum Racks folder to load a TR-808 kit (hit the Browse button again to exit the browser). In Drum Rack mode, the yellow 4x4 grid mirrors a Drum Rack’s 16-pad layout; tapping a pad will play the corresponding drum hit, and also select that sound for step-sequencing.Let’s record some live pad-playing. Punch the Record button then tap a yellow pad (in our case, the rimshot) to overdub notes in the clip; hit Record again to turn off recording. Our timing is off, so we tap and hold the rimshot pad while punching Quantize to lock the…2 min

TECHNIQUEThe Golden Age Of WirelessINCLUDES VIDEO VAULT.FUTUREMUSIC.CO.UKThis month we mostly bought a Music Thing Radio Music DIY kit (musicthing.co.uk) from Thonk.co.ukand assembled it over one long evening. The completed module is a sample playback unit but with the working methodology of a radio. An inserted MicroSD card can host hours of your sound files, which you can ‘tune’ between and retrigger, both manually and via CV. It’s a one-stop ‘tape music’ generating module, and makes a fantastic source for the Mutable Instruments Clouds, or really any module with an audio input…Radio Music’s files are arranged in banks. Select a bank of spoken word files and feed a sample-and-hold generator, clocked to change every second or so, into the ‘station’ control. Keep listening/recording as unrepeatable word collage happens in real time, at random.Try Tom Whitwell’s…1 min

TECHNIQUEVocoders In PracticeINCLUDES VIDEO VAULT.FUTUREMUSIC.CO.UKThere are several tricks for a clearer vocodered vocal. Firstly, a modulator signal with wildly-varying dynamics will result in an inconsistent vocoder effect, so compress your vocal before it hits the vocoder’s modulator input. Next, ensure both the modulator and carrier signals have sufficient high-frequency content: if needed, boost or excite the vocal (pre-vocoder) in the 5-10kHz region using either a high-shelf EQ boost or multiband distortion. Vocoders can struggle to reproduce high-frequency, inharmonic fricative speech noises (eg S/T sounds): isolate these sounds by high-passing a copy of the unprocessed vocal, then mix this signal in parallel with the vocoder’s output. Finally, try processing the modulator signal pre-vocoder: bitcrushing, distortion or modulation effects can all result in interesting timbral changes. With a spoken vocal and full-frequency synth chords on…1 min
You'll do best if you read carefully, consider the question posed, outline your legal responses and how the facts fit with them, and then begin writing. 4) You should not rely on your independent knowledge of any substantive state or federal law that may bear on issues addressed in the exam.
The Examiners want you to be familiar with how to analyze both general and specific jurisdiction. There are three bases for general jurisdiction – presence, consent, and domicile. If none of these are present, then go on to analyze specific jurisdiction (minimum contacts test).
The single best way to learn civil procedure is by working through practice problems, so the single best civil procedure study guide and supplement is Glannon's Examples and Explanations. This is because it explains each concept in simple terms, distilling a few hours of class into a sentence or paragraph.
There are generally 5 factors reviewed when looking at reasonableness: judicial efficiency, defendant's burden, plaintiff's interest, the forum state's interest and the shared states' interest.
Use logical reasoning. For each possible answer, ask yourself, "What would happen if… "? Use the process of elimination for multiple-choice questions where more than one option is correct: Pick out the options you are sure are correct.
You need to make the main issue clear, give the main rule, give the analysis, and give the main conclusion. However, the actual structure of your essay will depend on the fact pattern, the call of the question, and the legal issues raised by both.
