Does Sam's Club use Tier 1 gas? ›

Detergent additives help keep engines clean. Costco offers Top-tier gasoline with higher levels of required detergents; however, Sam's Club does not provide Top Tier gasoline.

“The benefits are not a myth.” While Top Tier fuel may cost a bit more, you're likely to save more overall at the pump if you fill up at a warehouse store — like Costco and Sam's Club — than at a regular gas station.

If you're a Plus member using a Sam's Club Mastercard, you can earn 5% Sam's Cash back on gas, 3% on Sam's Club purchases, 3% on dining and 1% on other purchases.

When gas prices hit over $3 a gallon, “members love us” and shift their gas spending to the club. Gas discounts are a tool Walmart uses to encourage customers to sign up for Walmart+ memberships, which also offer free shipping and discounts on prescriptions.

To join Walmart+ Assist, verify your eligibility on Walmart's website and then select a plan that's billed monthly or annually. After your first 30 days (which are free), you'll pay either $49 a year or $6.47 a month — half the cost of a regular membership.

Walmart and Sam's Club gift cards can be used at Walmart or Sam's Club Fuel Centers. Sam's Club gas stations do accept Walmart Credit Cards.
